We have had the opportunity to design a wide range of scientific facilities for a wide range of clients – with different briefs, specifications, and uses. These have included both refurbishment and new build projects on all scales.
For clients such as Durham University, we have worked on teaching labs and research labs (for Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Bio Science), as well as Medical Research Facilities, and other teaching environments.
Some of the key features of these projects have been:
All have required the design and installation of a wide range of specialist gases, extract ventilation, Fume Cupboards, Safety Cabinets, and wider Environmental Controls. They have also included in-house cooling water systems, house vacuum, water purification systems, dust suppression, antibacterial installations, drench showers, and decontamination chambers.
These schemes have all been completed in conjunction with specialist lighting, solar control, general environmental control, and supplementary IT and AV.
Such projects require the bespoke design of facilities and lab furniture, and liaison with a wide range of specialist suppliers. We work tirelessly on these projects to ensure they fulfill current standards and operational health & safety requirements.
Within educational departments, our work has further included associated accommodation, Teaching/Learning spaces, Write Up Rooms, Tutorial Rooms, and Academic Offices.
