This project involved a specialist adaptation for a disabled child, tailored to meet specific accommodation needs while incorporating provisions for future-proofing, such as en-suite specialist equipment and hoisting facilities.
The large two-storey property originally consisted of a network of several small cellular rooms, which hindered circulation throughout the home, along with an inaccessible entrance.
Through the development of multiple design options we were able to deliver a transformative design. We created an impressive open-plan family space to fulfil the family’s desire for togetherness, along with a therapy room and overnight accommodation for a carer.
PHP successfully reimagined the property, which now offers improved flow and promotes ease of movement. The ground-floor bedroom is seamlessly connected to the main house. The design also incorporates a therapy/sensory room, complete with an internal hoist to support therapy and encourage enjoyment.
